FESTIVAL SPIRIT - TURNING DREAMS INTO REALITY

Festival Spirit is a charity aimed at providing the full festival experience to young people who would not normally be able to enjoy one due to life-limiting illness or disability, our VIPs.

We are passionate about helping people who never thought they could attend a festival to enjoy the experience safe in the knowledge that they will have the facilities, support and back up necessary for their condition.

Carers are hand-picked to match the needs of our attendees (our VIP's) needs from straightforward feeding and showering to more complex routines such as overnight lung drainage.

Our accommodation on site is in specially adapted tents with hard flooring and close to disabled facilities such as showers and toilets.

Able-bodied "buddies" are matched up to VIP's to help them get around the festival site and to get the most out of the event, to see the bands they want to see and to attend all the other exciting activities on offer.

In 2012, Festival Spirit will be taking a group to  WOMAD from 27 July until 31 July. Other events are being planned. See our Events page for more information.

Great fund raising news

Don't you just love bankers? Yes we do!!

Today was the annual Oxford bankers charity lunch for local professionals and Festival Spirit was the nominated charity. Over £4,500 was raised from the 280 attendees which Lloyds Bank, this year's hosts, are going to match giving us a total of £9,500! Woo hoo - WOMAD here we come!

Thank you Oxford bankers and professionals and thank you Lloyds Bank for the matched funding. It means such a lot to us, like Christmas has come early.
